Love is in the air this week and sometimes that brings some pressure on couples and singles! So I’ve put together 5 little points to help you get through the day of romance.

  1. It’s okay if you don’t have a Valentine! – Don’t cry yourself to sleep listening to Keyshia Cole, backed up by Faith Evans, sprinkled with the cries of Mary J Blige. It’s one day in the year that belongs to couples; if you don’t have a partner then treat the day exactly like you would any other day. And please don’t take yourself out on a date… like really it’s okay, do that on February 15th!

  2. It’s a day to show your love ( Not the only day!) – Valentine’s day is really a sales gimmick and is not the be-all and end-all of your relationship… it’s not that deep. But a little gift or quality time spent with someone you love/like/kinda want to be with ( that last one was for all y’all in situationships), won’t hurt! If you’re looking for some cheap and cheerful ways to gift someone there are some great DIY ideas here.

  3. ” Are we doing Valentines or…” – It’s always awkward when valentines’ is fast approaching and you’ve just started seeing someone new! Do you mention it? Do you just assume you are? How much do you spend on a gift? It’s the crazy world of dating, but after you finish your meltdown; dust yourself off and take that leap of faith. Maybe just mentioning it in passing, no need for a sit-down meal about it. Because if you assume, you may be left feeling flat on the day of love.

  4. Are you a side? – It’s not your day babe. Sides don’t get gifts. If you decided to commit yourself to such a lowly position, you must live with the consequences! Play your role and just cool down while he continues to be trash. But don’t worry he’ll probably see you at 11:59 pm… that’s your time to shine!

  5. Don’t be a hater – This one is for all of you that are like me LOL! Not a big fan of PDA on a regular day, so valentines is just ughhhhh. But hey, if you’ve found someone who’s willing to love you shout out to you because it’s a cruel world. Life’s short so live it to the fullest… even if your love does make me gag.
